Biosecurity & Avian Flu

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of biosecurity and why its eggstremely important for you and your flock. I also review the current status of the 2022 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), and what additional protections and steps you will need to take during an HPAI outbreak, or other such major poultry disease outbreaks. I also get into some real talk about planning, what to expect when it shows up in your area or your backyard, and how you can emotionally prepare for the worst. There's no sugar-coating the realities in this talk, because romanticizing urban farming and chicken-keeping won't help you or your birds.
